It’s all about the journey!!

Headed to California to get some solar and begin our journey around the country. Jax and I want to see all of the lower 48 in the next six months and meet as many strangers as possible and make them new friends. We’re looking for a system that will run a little refrigerator and a boiler plate so we can be completely self sufficient. Here we go!!

What Does It Mean To Go "Off Grid"?

Who travels to the middle of the desert to dress up and dance in a disco with flashing lights and thumping music?? I know it sounds counter intuitive, but the idea of going to a place COMPLETELY uninhabitable and transforming it into a city of collaborration, love, and expression is what I do every year. There are NO SERVICES out there. Meaning "Off Grid". No Power. No Phones. No Drive-thru restaurants. NOTHING. People come from all over the world to share an experience that teaches us, "what is possible".

In order to sustain my habit I need solar, cellular, and the peace of mind, that it will work when I need it to. PSI Off Grid's solutions give me flexibility, peace of mind, and inovative installations so I know my gear will always work. I won't have to woorry about my stove or refrigerator failing; leaving me with nothing but Power Bars to get me through to civilization. I can crank my disco lights all night long. I can call my mom to tell her I still haven't run away with the circus.

The best part? I have all the comforts of home, but I am nowhere near home. I get to wake up in new places, meet new faces, and speak new phrases with the comforting thought that I have a PSI Off Grid system in my RV.

The Beginning

 It was two weeks post pandemic shut down. I had sold my business one month before the pandemic hit and the career that I thought I was going to start has been indefinitely postponed; which really didn’t bother me at all. A thought occurred to me: why am I sitting around when I have at least 6 months to do whatever I want to do and I could be traveling around the country with my dog?

So, the very next day I called Chuck at PSI Off Grid and told him I wanted solar on my jeep to run a refrigerator and a little cook top stove. He said, no problem, we can hook you up. So, I ordered a slick wheelie for my motorcycle, loaded up my Jeep Compass and drive from Boise, Idaho to Sacramento, Ca to start the greatest adventure of my life.
